PsyD Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Matthew Johnson is brilliant and talented psychologist. His patients describe him as incredibly insightful, caring, and dedicated. Dr Johnson earned his doctorate in psychology at the School of Behavioral and Applied Science, Azusa Pacific University.  He completed his APA-accredited clinical internship at Pacific Clinics where he specialized in treating ethnically diverse adults and adolescents, many with severe anxiety, depression, and co-occurring substance use issues. Prior to his internship, he trained in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr Johnson is well versed in psychological testing and providing integrated behavioral health interventions in primary care.

Dr. Johnson and Dr. Keil share expertise and are similar in therapeutic style, approach, and treatment philosophy. He is collaborative and experienced in cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and attachment-focused therapies. Insight-oriented strategies are key to his style and he is seamless at integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based approaches. Dr Johnson believes in honoring his clients values-based living when treating a diversity of concerns including depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, addiction, stress, and relational issues.
