Dr. Mitch Keil is a clinical psychologist who has been providing mental health services in the Southern California area since he began his training in 2008. Dr. Keil has experience working with people from all backgrounds. This includes treating adults, adolescents, and families everywhere from hospital based care to community mental health. He has successfully worked with some of the most challenging psychiatric conditions, including those found criminally insane at Patton State Hospital in Redlands, California.
Dr. Keil has received training at some of California’s most rigorous institutions. Currently, he is in private practice in Newport Beach, CA and a Professor of Psychology at Santiago Canyon College. Dr. Keil supervises residents in clinical psychology and publishes articles regularly for major news outlets. In his free time he likes to surf, ride motorcycles, hike, read and spend time with his wife, son, and daughter.
Dr. Keil approaches treatment from a psychodynamic, humanistic and existential/phenomenological perspective and is seasoned in the treatment of a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, and grief/loss in adolescents and adults. He specializes in treating teens, young adults, and adults. He also works frequently with high profile individuals, executives and professional athletes as a sports psychologist. As a part of his dedication to the field, Dr. Keil receives regular supervision, support, continuing education and training for his private practice. He is a lifelong learner and practitioner who is passionate about mental health, philosophy, and psychology.
