Dr. Heather Pratt

PsyD Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Heather Pratt is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 14 years of experience serving the Orange County community. Her career began in hospital-based psychiatric care, where she worked closely with the elderly population navigating acute mental health challenges. From there, she transitioned into private practice, where she specialized in treating high-risk teens and adults experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and addiction.

Dr. Pratt later served as Clinical Director of an inpatient chemical dependency hospital for women, where she led a multidisciplinary team in treating substance use disorders. There, she worked closely with patients and their families, guiding them through the often painful—but deeply healing—process of understanding and recovering from addiction’s impact on individuals and family systems.

Dr. Pratt brings a flexible, integrative approach to therapy. Drawing from psychodynamic therapy, family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and attachment theory, she tailors her approach to the unique needs, history, and goals of each client. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented, aiming to foster both immediate relief and long-term growth.

She works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and is passionate about helping her clients navigate life transitions, improve relationships, build resilience, and reclaim a sense of meaning and self-worth. Her clients often describe her as empathetic, wise, and deeply committed to their healing journey.

In her personal life, Dr. Pratt is devoted to her family. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, their two daughters—now young adults—and their extended family, who also live in the Orange County area. She considers it a privilege to witness the transformative power of therapy and is deeply grateful to work in a field where she can help others grow and heal.
